Jan Jander's organic forms strive to capture the elegance and beauty of nature through concrete. He has been compared to Donald Judd's work and other important artists. The sculptural furnishings are unpredictable and original, offering a fresh and unexpected take on furniture design. By casting in concrete forms which are usually seen in other materials, the viewer is confronted with the poured concrete's intrinsic qualities and simple elegance. Less than fifty pieces are made each year, and each piece is handmade to order by Jan Jander and signed in Braille with his initials.
